Wren a web browser where WebAssembly runs everything, JavaScript included

Wren 0.6.6

Wren 0.6.6 keeps a sticky header at the top while a page is busy, scrolls much faster with the middle click, and records timelines of its frames.

This is still a beta, under development, and Windows-only.

Highlights

  • A sticky header stays at the top while the wheel scrolls the kept picture of a page that a script keeps busy: it was drawn once, lower, and not at its place for the frames made meanwhile (Bootstrap's documentation).
  • wren ctl timeline records every frame the renderer draws, chrome frames included, and writes them as pictures with a contact sheet and a JSON of what each frame was. It is how the header above was found.
  • Middle-click autoscroll is much faster: up to 30000 px/s, reached 300 px from the anchor, the speed doubling every 60 px.
  • The cursor over an iframe is its document's: jQuery UI's resize handles show the resize cursor.
