The browser keeps everything local

Wren has no telemetry and no analytics. It does not send reports about what you browse, and it does not contact a server about your licence: a key is checked on your computer, offline.

Your profile (history, cookies, storage, settings) stays on your computer, in the profile folder. Crash reports are written there too, as files, and are never uploaded by Wren.

Wren connects to the network for the pages you open and nothing else. The sites you visit receive what any browser sends them: the request, your IP address and the headers the standards define.

This site

This site is plain HTML and CSS. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from third parties, with one exception: on the pricing page, the Paddle checkout script is loaded only when you press the buy button.

When you buy a licence

Paddle acts as Merchant of Record and processes the payment. It collects what a payment requires (name, e-mail address, billing details, tax information) under Paddle's privacy policy.

Once the payment is confirmed, a small service run by Froment Software (a Cloudflare Worker) stores the name, e-mail address, order number, transaction id and the licence. That is what the thank-you page shows and what the e-mail with your key is sent from. That e-mail goes out through Cloudflare's own mail service (Cloudflare Email Service), which handles your address and the message to deliver it, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. The service's logs hold event names, transaction ids, order numbers, statuses and error codes, never a name, an address or a key.

Nothing else is stored, and nothing is sold or shared beyond what issuing the licence requires.

The controller of the record kept by that service is Froment Software (Sacha Froment, sole proprietor; see the imprint for the address).

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what is stored about your purchase, or for its deletion, by writing to contact@froment.software. A licence whose record is deleted can no longer be re-sent; the key you already have keeps working.

You can also contact Paddle about the data it holds for the payment, and your local data-protection authority if you think your rights are not respected.
