Who handles refunds
A Wren User Licence is sold through Paddle, who act as Merchant of Record and authorised reseller. Paddle processes the payment, the taxes, the invoice and the refund.
Froment Software supplies the software and issues the licence. It does not process card payments and does not refund them itself: when Paddle refunds a purchase, Froment Software treats the licence as ended.
How to request a refund
Contact Paddle with your order:
- use the “View receipt” or order-management link in your Paddle confirmation e-mail; or
- open a request at paddle.net and choose the refund option; or
- follow the support path printed on your Paddle receipt.
You can also write to contact@froment.software if you need help finding your order. Froment Software can confirm the product or licence details to Paddle; Paddle remains the party that pays the refund.
Statutory withdrawal
If you buy as a consumer, mandatory law may give you a right to withdraw within a set period - often 14 days in the EU, the EEA, Switzerland and the UK for eligible digital purchases. Paddle applies those rules as seller of record. The exceptions, including digital content supplied immediately with your express consent, are described in Paddle's refund policy.
Nothing here shortens or replaces your mandatory consumer rights.
Outside the statutory period
Paddle may grant a refund at its discretion under its own policy. Abuse of the refund process may lead to a refusal.
If Wren has a defect that prevents it from working as described, open an issue on GitHub first so that it can be fixed. If it cannot be, contact Paddle with the details.
Effect on the licence
When Paddle finally refunds the purchase, the licence granted for it ends, subject to mandatory law, and the key is not blocked technically: Wren checks keys offline and never contacts a server, and a licence unlocks nothing, so nothing in Wren stops working. A provisional chargeback alone does not end the licence until the payment outcome is final.
