Licence terms

What you buy

A purchase is a one-time payment for a personal, perpetual licence for Wren. It is not a subscription: there is no renewal and no recurring charge.

The licence includes two years of updates: counted from the release of Wren 1.0 for a licence bought before it, from the date of purchase for a licence bought after it. Every version released during those two years is covered. After them, you may keep using the last version covered, for as long as it works on your computer; newer versions need a licence whose updates cover their release. The price is a beta price and may rise after 1.0; a licence already bought keeps its two years.

The licence is personal, for you as one named individual. You may use it on all the computers you use, including a work computer, and in your own profession. It may not be shared or resold.

Wren's source code is public under the PolyForm Strict License 1.0.0: noncommercial use is free, redistribution, sale and changes are not allowed, and commercial use needs the author's agreement. During the beta the licence unlocks nothing: no feature, no version, no support level; it is a way to support the development and to reserve your two years of updates. From 1.0, the updates beyond a licence's two years need a licence.

By placing your order you accept these terms.

Delivery

After payment, your key is shown on the page that follows and sent to the e-mail address you gave at the checkout, with a .wrenlicense file attached, usually within a few minutes. The Windows build (10 or 11, x64) is free to download and use at any time, before or after you buy.

Your key

The licence is a signed key, checked by Wren on your computer, offline. Keep it for yourself: it is personal, and it works on every computer you use.

If a purchase is refunded or reversed, the licence ends, as described in the refund policy.

Seller and payment

Wren is supplied by Froment Software. Payments are processed by Paddle, who act as Merchant of Record: they sell the licence on behalf of Froment Software and handle VAT, invoices and receipts.

See the privacy policy for what is stored when you buy, and the refund policy for refunds and withdrawal.

Warranty and liability

Wren is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. The licence is a contribution to the development of the software, not a promise of a particular result.

Nothing in these terms limits the rights that mandatory consumer law gives you, nor any liability that cannot be limited by law.
